EXPODIUM is an urban do tank.

Expodium is a collective of three [Nikos Doulos, Friso Wiersum, Bart Witte]. Through a variety of methods of artistic research, we generate vital information about urban areas and at the same time activate those areas and their users. We are a satellite at grass-root level; framing local developments in global discourse. We document, archive, contextualize and frequently publish information and knowledge generated through our practice. We work unsolicited and we are for hire. We work with an international network of artists, architects, academics and the likes for mutual brain-picking. We collaborated with and worked for housing corporations, local governments, museums, universities, festivals and art institutions. We stroll and awe.

I live and work on the internet; no wonder "information and communication technologies for democracy" has been the main focus of my work. In 2012, I launched Jarokelo.hu, a website that allows people to report local problems such as potholes and broken street lights in Budapest. Since then I have also contributed to free press, and other ICT for democracy projects at Atlatszo.hu and K-Monitor, both Hungarian anti-corruption NGOs. PLACCC - International festival of Site-specific Art and Art in Public Space

PLACCC has been conceived as an event organised on an annual basis with the aim of introducing the genre of site-specific art and art in public space to the Hungarian public. The festival also serves as a platform for dialogue about the city we inhabit and an opportunity for interdisciplinary encounters not only between international and Hungarian artists, but also between artists, audiences and academics of related fields (such as sociology, anthropology, urban studies, architecture). Presenting site specific work is a way of making people aware of art work that overcomes the boundaries of art as they know it. Audiences have a chance to encounter new artistic experiences and at the same time, get to know another aspect of the city where they live, the urban spaces that art can also use and inhabit.
